Billy Knight Short Film Competition

Filmmakers from all backgrounds are called to produce a short film that captures the essence of Billy Knight, a feature film starring Al Pacino and Charlie Heaton. This is your platform to express your unique perspective and love for filmmaking, whether you are using a smartphone or professional equipment.

Prizes

• First Prize: $25,000 and inclusion of the winning short within the official Billy Knight feature film.
• Second Prize: $10,000.
• Third Prize: $5,000.

Submission Process

1. Upload your completed film to a social media platform such as Instagram, X, YouTube, or TikTok.
2. To ensure your entry is reviewed, you must include both required hashtags: #billyknightchallenge and #billyknight.
3. Please tag our official account in your post.
4. Follow the account billyknightmovie on Instagram and TikTok for all news and announcements.
5. You are also required to email your film submission to billyknightchallenge@gmail.com. Please review the full rules before submitting.

Official Rules

• Maximum duration is five minutes.
• Footage must be captured in 4K resolution.
• The film must be produced after October 24, 2025.
• All entries must be received by January 15, 2026.
• Suggested narrative themes include the intersection of love and artistry, finding redemption through creative work, the Hollywood dream, and the magical quality of cinema.

Evaluation Criteria

We seek to honor creators who share a passion for the romantic and daring heart of movie-making. Submissions of any style—including narrative, documentary, experimental, and animation—are encouraged. Your work should demonstrate technical skill, a distinct point of view, and emotional depth. Create something truthful, visually compelling, and unmistakably your own.
