Behavioral Health Clinician

Overview

APLA Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Clinician to deliver integrated mental health and substance use disorder services. This role focuses on providing personalized care within a supportive environment, with a particular emphasis on serving low-income LGBT adults and people living with HIV/AIDS. The annual salary range for this position is $72,782.90 to $92,124.94, based on experience. This is a hybrid-remote role, allowing work from home 60-80% of the time.

Requirements

• A Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from an accredited university.
• Substantial experience in identifying, diagnosing, and treating substance use disorders, with specific expertise in opioid misuse.
• Knowledge of LGBTQ behavioral health issues, HIV-related behavioral health, and differential diagnosis using the DSM-V.
• Ability to maintain a caseload with an average of 25 billable service hours per week.
• Must hold a valid California driver’s license, provide proof of automobile liability insurance, and have access to a personal vehicle.
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster, or a valid medical/religious exemption, are required.

Essential Duties

• Conduct behavioral health intakes, biopsychosocial assessments, and develop treatment plans.
• Provide individual, couples, and group counseling.
• Offer crisis counseling and intervention.
• Screen and assess for risks related to sexually transmitted infections.
• Expand the use of substance abuse screening tools and integrate opioid risk assessment into the Electronic Health Record.
• Document all services accurately and promptly in eClinicalWorks.
• Adhere to all professional, legal, and ethical standards, including HIPAA compliance.
