Overview

APLA Health is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our finance team. This role focuses on financial analysis with an emphasis on revenue cycle oversight, budgeting, reporting, and regulatory compliance for a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare finance and a passion for supporting our mission of providing high-quality, compassionate care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution is mandatory.
  • At least three years of financial analysis experience within a healthcare environment or FQHC is mandatory.
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems is mandatory.
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory.
  • Experience with revenue cycle management and healthcare reimbursement processes is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of FQHC operations, federal healthcare regulations, and compliance standards.
  • Must hold a valid California driver’s license, provide proof of auto insurance, and have access to a vehicle.
  • COVID-19 vaccination and booster are required, barring approved exemptions.

Essential Duties

  • Generate monthly, quarterly, annual, and special request financial and operational reports.
  • Evaluate performance indicators (denial rates, revenue per visit, patient numbers).
  • Oversee and assess billing, claims, and reimbursement procedures to identify and resolve issues.
  • Perform reimbursement studies and construct financial projections for FQHC collaborations.
  • Aid in formulating the yearly operating and capital budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations and manage the submission of required reports (e.g., Medi-Cal, HRSA UDS, Medicare cost reports).
  • Provide financial support for strategic projects and perform cost-benefit analyses.
