Overview

Join Summer Studio, a high-end furniture workshop specializing in handcrafted wood furniture and lighting. This role involves building production furniture, prototypes, and custom orders in collaboration with the head designer, using a blend of traditional joinery and modern machinery.

Requirements

• Background in fine woodworking or furniture production, proven by professional experience or a strong portfolio.
• Proficiency in reading technical drawings, measurements, and shop plans.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic studio environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory)

• Familiarity with 3-axis CNC operation.
• Experience with oil-based finishes, solid wood shaping, bent lamination, or leathercraft.
• Ability to suggest process and product improvements.

Responsibilities

• Process, glue, and prepare hardwood parts (e.g., white oak, walnut, ash).
• Execute precise joinery using hand tools, machinery, and CNC methods.
• Assemble, sand, and finish pieces to an exhibition-quality standard.
• Assist in prototyping, design refinement, and creating jigs.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workshop.
• Help with packaging and shipping as needed.
