CNC Setup Technician – Specializing in Star CNC Machines (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Compensation: $24.00–$29.00 per hour, based on experience.

Overview

Our company is a precision machining facility for aerospace and industrial components. We are seeking a CNC Setup Technician with specific, hands-on experience configuring Star CNC Swiss-type lathes. This is a W-2 employee position (not for independent contractors) with all necessary tools provided. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Note: Candidates without direct setup experience on Star CNC equipment should not apply.

Requirements

• A minimum of three years of hands-on setup experience with Star CNC Swiss machines is mandatory.
• Must possess knowledge of tooling, offsets, and standard inspection equipment.
• Proficiency in reading technical blueprints and using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers).
• Must demonstrate reliability and the ability to work autonomously.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
• This is strictly a W-2 employee role.

Primary Duties

• Configure and calibrate Star CNC Swiss-type lathes.
• Load programs, adjust tooling/offsets, and execute first-article production runs.
• Conduct in-process quality inspections.
• Interpret technical blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Coordinate with machine operators and team members.
• Maintain a tidy and organized work environment.

Schedule and Location

• Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
• Type: Full-time or part-time (minimum 20 hours/week).
• Location: On-site in Bell Gardens, CA.
• All required tools are provided.
