Overview
APLA Health seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver culturally sensitive medical services, with a focus on the LGBTQ+ community and people living with HIV. This is a primarily clinical position reporting to the Nursing Director, involving patient care, care coordination, and supporting the clinic's transition to a patient-centered medical home (PCMH). The hourly wage for this role is $44.64 to $58.15, based on experience.
Requirements
- Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Clinical experience as an RN in an ambulatory health care setting; experience at a federally qualified health center (FQHC) is preferred.
- Experience with electronic health records, preferably Eclinical Works.
- Ability to provide services in a non-judgmental manner to diverse populations.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license, proof of automobile liability insurance, and have access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide clinical support to medical providers and coordinate with medical assistants for specialty referrals.
- Treat patients with STIs and administer vaccines per clinical protocols.
- Deliver health education, triage walk-in and call-in patients with acute concerns.
- Participate in chronic disease management and communicate lab results to patients.
- Assist in clinic workflow, supervise LVNs/MAs, and maintain medical supply inventory.
- Support quality improvement activities and the clinic's PCMH transition.
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications and verify insurance eligibility.
- Serve as the initial contact for the patient portal (eCW).
