Overview

Fun Surf LA, a premier surf school, is seeking enthusiastic and safety-focused Surf Instructors. Deliver exceptional surf instruction and customer service at scenic LA beaches. Earn $23–$28 per hour, plus gratuities and performance incentives.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of personal surfing experience.
• Minimum 1 year of professional surf instruction experience.
• Proficient swimming and surfing skills in various ocean conditions.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or commitment to obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Optimistic, patient, with excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work outdoors for extended periods.
• Dependable, professional in conduct and appearance.
• Lifeguard, ISA, or similar certifications are highly advantageous and qualify for additional compensation.

Primary Duties

• Deliver beginner and intermediate surf instruction (private & group sessions).
• Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring guest safety and enthusiasm.
• Handle preparation and cleanup of surfing equipment (boards, wetsuits, shade structures).
• Monitor sea conditions and make safety-first decisions.
• Maintain equipment and report any damage or loss.
• Uphold a professional representation of the company.
