Full-Time Cook / Prep Cook

Location: Pita Bar and Grill Restaurant, Brentwood – West Los Angeles

Compensation: An hourly wage, determined by experience, beginning at $17 per hour. This is supplemented by tips and staff meals.

Overview

We are a Mediterranean dining venue seeking an experienced Cook or Prep Cook with a background in preparing kebabs. The ideal candidate will be proficient with fresh ingredients, grilling, and high-volume preparation to become an integral part of our kitchen team.

Requirements

• A minimum of two years of professional cooking experience.
• Demonstrated experience in cooking kebabs is essential.
• Previous work in a Mediterranean or Middle Eastern restaurant is a significant advantage.
• Proficient knife skills and experience with grill cooking.
• Must be able to work quickly, cleanly, and in an organized manner.
• Dependable, punctual, and a cooperative team player.
• Capable of lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
• Available to work evenings and weekends as necessary.

Primary Duties

• Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established standards.
• Marinate and prepare meats for kebabs, shawarma, skewers, and other Mediterranean specialties.
• Cook kebabs, grilled dishes, rice, salads, and various hot and cold appetizers.
• Adhere consistently to recipes and portioning guidelines.
• Execute daily preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables and making sauces and dressings.
• Support the kitchen team by assisting with dishwashing as required.
• Keep your workstation clean and orderly at all times.
• Comply with all food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures for the kitchen.
• Communicate effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house staff.
• Help with restocking supplies and managing kitchen inventory.
